Picking a registrar is one thing — actually buying the domain is surprisingly quick once you know where to click ✅
Here’s how I did it on Namecheap.com in a few simple steps:
- Search your domain
Head to namecheap.com and type in your preferred name (likehelloworld.com) in the search bar.
If it’s available, it’ll show up with the price and options (1–3 years, auto‑renew, etc).

- Choose your plan and add to cart
For mine, I picked a 3‑year term to lock in the best price.
Then I clicked “Add to Cart” and moved to checkout 💳 - Create an account (or log in)
Namecheap asks you to create an account or log in.
I went with a fresh account (with my personal gmail). - Review and apply promo (if any)
At checkout, I double‑checked the domain name, term, and total — then applied any applicable promo code.
My final came out to $60.10 (inc GST) for 3 years, which felt like a solid deal 🤝 - Confirm payment
Choose your payment method (credit card, PayPal, etc.), confirm, and hit “Complete Order”.
Once it’s done, you’ll get an email confirmation and a link to your domain dashboard 🎉 - Jump into Dashboard then Domain List
From the dashboard, I could see my new domain and status and other details. Manage button will be the one we will be using to update the DNS, perfect for Atlassian verification 🔧

Congrats in getting a domain!👏🏻
